Since August 2024, we – the OsteoCare Lab team – have been combining our expertise to jointly initiate projects in the field of orthopaedic research at the Faculty of Medicine at Bielefeld University.
We would like to jointly advance research in the field of bone and cartilage regeneration, osteoporosis and bone metastasis and look forward to inspiring young students and scientists for this research content.
We are Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Bernd Bittersohl, Director and Chief Physician of the University Clinic for Orthopaedics at Bielefeld-Mitte Hospital and Head of the Orthopaedics Research Group, PD Dr. Vera Grotheer, Head of the “OsteoCare Lab” research laboratory of the Orthopaedics Working Group and Bastian Altemeier, Project Coordinator of Research & Teaching at the University Clinic for Orthopaedics. As a newly formed team, we work closely together between Bielefeld University Hospital and the OWL Faculty of Medicine. Our aim is not only to use our scientific findings to improve treatment in the future, but also to develop innovative treatment concepts for the benefit of patients.
